Build America Bust!

May 17, 2009

Cross posting from, the links will work here.  Yes its lazy, but am too tired to redo the work.  Go here for the google map with addresses, charges, bail/jail status, and court date info as well as a  link-o-rama of local coverage of the story.

Fairfax County Police led a massive bust near the popular and growing radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, VA. The strip mall down the street that is hangout of choice for the Islamist enclave surrounding Dar al-Hijrah is called Build America, thus the title Operation Build America. Time again we’ve seen the nexus between petty crime, organized crime, and jihadis. Hopefully this made a bigger impact than can be released to the public. You must click on the link to read the names and see pictures of those arrested. 16 of 27 middle eastern males between ages 18 and 48. Just goes to show that even though FXPD had a Jihadi mole, the boys in blue can still kick a little ass.

Fairfax County, home to Falls Church, is one of the major frontlines of Islamist aggression. We have:
The Dar al-Hijrah Wahabbi corridor which is a massive Islamist enclave built up around the mosque
Tax payer subsidized K-B.A. in Jihad via the Islamic Saudi Academy and George Mason (ISA is not taxed and Mason is public)that has already produced one convicted terrorist
Gitmo trials and Gitmo prisoners coming
And our first pro-jihad candidate

This bust is only the tip of the iceberg. Its a good start, but just that, a start.

Undercover Operation Nets 143 Criminal Charges

On Wednesday, May 6, over 135 law enforcement personnel participated in concluding a year-long undercover investigation. Operation Build America was launched in May 2008 to better understand the criminal activity taking place in and around the Build America Shopping Center. The shopping center is nestled in the Skyline community in the 3800 block of South George Mason Drive. Community concerns of illegal activities in the shopping center coupled with indicators that crime was in the upswing sprung the operation into motion.

The investigation successfully infiltrated several criminal organizations and businesses operating around the center. Undercover police officers identified nearly 40 people suspected of criminal activity that ranges from property crimes to crimes of violence. The undercover operation successfully recovered stolen firearms and illegal narcotics including cocaine and marijuana.

Collectively, 143 criminal arrest warrants and 15 search warrants were issued in this undercover operation.

The success of the operation can be attributed to the coordinated effort of several units and agencies:

* Fairfax County Police
o Criminal Intelligence Division
o Organized Crime and Narcotics Division
o Special Weapons and Tactics Team
o Mason, Sully, and Mount Vernon Police District Stations
* Town of Herndon Police Department
* Department of Public Safety Communications
* Fairfax County Code Enforcement Strike Team
* Fairfax County Office of the Sheriff
* City of Alexandria Police Department
* United States Marshals Service
* United States Postal Inspector’s Office
* Northern Virginia Cigarette Tax Board
* Northern Virginia Gang Task Force

More Radicalism from Virginia House Candidate Omeish Revealed

Steve Emerson

Important to note: Omeish’s run follows CAIRs annual banquet last November that featured Con. Ellison exhorting muslims to run for any and all public offices.  Couple this with Nihad Awad +CAIR en masse attending the FXCO Planning Commission hearing on expanding the Islamic Saudi Academy Popes Head Rd. campus, and you’ve got Wahabbi  helping Wahabbi and Muslim Brotherhood helping Muslim Brotherhood.  Make no mistake Fairfax is the frontline. Emerson does a stellar job outlining Omeish’s nefarious background.

The last time the public got a good look at Esam Omeish, he was resigning from a Virginia immigration panel, claiming that the posting of videos showing him praising Palestinians who chose “the jihad way” to liberate their land was part of a smear campaign against him. Now Omeish is diving into the deep end of smear campaigns, offering himself as a candidate for a partisan legislative seat in Northern Virginia.

Omeish is among four Democrats vying to win their party’s nomination in District 35 in the Virginia House of Delegates. According to his campaign website, Omeish would focus on health care, traffic congestion and education if sent to Richmond. The site emphasizes his Northern Virginia roots and his medical career. It borrows themes from Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, including a logo emphasizing the letter “O” from his last name. Like Obama, Omeish also calls himself “a community organizer,” who “has served on the board of a number of non-profit organizations.” Omeish actually ran a national religious organization, yet there’s not one reference to the Muslim American Society (MAS) or his role as president anywhere on the campaign site. Neither is there any mention of Omeish’s 2007 appointment by Gov. Tim Kaine to the Virginia Commission on Immigration. Omeish no longer is listed as president on the MAS website, although it is not clear when his term may have ended or who succeeded him.

MAS was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, an 80-year-old Egyptian religious/political movement that seeks to make Islamic law, or Shariah, the controlling basis for society. As a college student, Omeish was president of the Muslim Students Association at Georgetown University. Like MAS, the student association was founded by Muslim Brotherhood members in the United States. Omeish insists any Brotherhood connections are a thing of the past. But an examination of his speeches and sermons obtained by the Investigative Project on Terrorism shows Omeish repeatedly praising Hamas leaders and speaking of using his religion to transform American society. Among the examples:

* In an April 2004 speech at a MAS conference in Overland Park, Kan., Omeish was asked about conditions in the Middle East and referred to Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin, who was killed in an Israeli attack a month earlier as “our beloved Sheikh Ahmed Yassin:”

* “Bullets and bombs are going off upon our brothers in Philistine [Palestine] and we are sitting here and saying (Arabic phrase – there is no power and no strength save in God), instead of feeling that this is our tax money and it is our dollars that killed our beloved Sheikh Ahmed Yassin (Arabic – may God have mercy on him). If we don’t take that responsibility we will never make the necessary changes that will prevent this administration or any administration that will come beyond it from doing the same thing to our beloved Muslims all over the world.”

In that same appearance, he urged the audience to integrate, rather than assimilate, arguing it was better to have Islam serve as a transformational force in America. It was time, he said, to take the bull by the horns in “making sure that I will not accept the evils of this society because they are putting down this society and I must do everything in my capacity to correct those ills. It goes towards perfecting the society so it can carry the light of Allah so it can establish a presence of what a perfect society under the guidance of Allah is.” Islam will either “become the dominant religion of the next century,” he said, or “we may be forcibly rejected from the West because of forces of intolerance, racism and bigotry are present and grow larger.”

* In March 2007, Omeish spoke at a dinner for Abdelhaleem Ashqar and Mohammed Salah. Prosecutors say the men “were active members in Hamas who engaged in the provision of logistical, financial, strategic and administrative support to further the objective of Hamas.” While they were acquitted of conspiracy charges, Salah was convicted of obstruction for lying about his support for Hamas. Ashqar was sentenced to 11 years in prison after being convicted of contempt for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating Hamas support in the United States. Omeish did not refer to those convictions in his remarks: “My dear respected brothers and sisters, I would like for us to start by praying for Allah’s (UI few words) by congratulating my dear, beloved brother Abdelhaleem Ashqar, and my dear brother Mohammed Salah, who’s not with us, but our prayers and thoughts are for him.” Ashqar helped organize a secret 1993 gathering of Hamas members and supporters in America to discuss ways to derail the recently signed Oslo Peace Accord. Hamas opposed the peace deal because it moved toward a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and because members feared being marginalized if the secular Fatah movement controlled the first Palestinian Authority. Omeish also wrote a letter of support for Ashqar, urging the judge to give Ashqar a light sentence: “I have known Dr. Ashqar on a personal and community levels for a long time. He has been a folk legend for his resistance to testifying against anybody in what he perceives as a witch hunt for any supporters of the Palestinian rights.”

* In a January 2009 sermon at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque, Omeish lamented U.S. support for Israel during the recent fighting in Gaza. The U.S. ambassador stood in the way of a United Nations resolution condemning Israeli bombings, he said. The planes dropping those bombs were paid by U.S. tax dollars: “We need to understand our faith, understand its inherent message, understand the example of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam and take forward the transformation, a real change within our community that embraces their identity as an American, but understand their mission in life is the values and the principles of Islam, which are compatible with their identity, and must understand that we cannot remain complacent. We cannot allow the status quo to continue. We need an American Islamic movement that transforms our status, that impacts our society, and that brings forth the change that we want to see.”

When it comes to the Muslim American Society, Omeish admits its founders were Brotherhood members. But any connections, he told reporters after resigning from the immigration board, have long since passed: “Today, MAS has no ties with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood does not exist as far as we know in the United States. We are staunchly American. We’re legal, transparent. Our transactions are to the full extent of the law. And we have no way or interest, really, to speak on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood overseas. We still view them as a good ally that our government engages in different capacities in the Middle East – in Iraq in the form of the Islamic Party, in Egypt in avenues of social reform, in different parts. And we think that they do hold a lot of stake in the shaping of the minds and hearts of Muslims in the Middle East. So it behooves as an American policy makers to engage those parties to be able to forge a more stable relationship with the Muslim countries.”

Finally, there are the speeches that prompted his resignation from the immigration board. In October 2000, Omeish congratulated Palestinians for “giving up their lives for the sake Allah.” Two months later, he praised those who learned ” the jihad way is the way to liberate your land.” He added, “We are telling them that we are with you and we are supporting you and we will do everything that we can, Insh’Allah, to help your cause.” After his resignation, Omeish denied his words condoned violence: “I speak out of the pulpit, and we do talk about jihad as a concept that is accepted Islamically, a concept that is in the broader sense is truly an honorable term that we can apply in our daily life. It means emotional, intellectual as well as physical struggle. And I think it’s important for us, if we want to engage the Muslim community, it’s not to allow ourselves to define them but to allow them to define themselves for who they are. Jihad does not mean holy war. Jihad does not mean Crusades. In fact, even if you look historically, the way where these terms were developed, they never had that connotation in Islam.”

Campaign finance reports and district demographics indicate Omeish may be facing an uphill climb in his first bid for public office. He may be helped by MAS’ well organized voter registration and get-out-the-vote machine, driven by everything from its Freedom Foundation to Boy and Girl Scout troops. But two of his opponents are better financed, and one seeks to make a little history of his own. Mark Keam, a former chief counsel for Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin on the Senate Judiciary Committee, leads the pack in fundraising and seems to have deeper political connections as a result of his experience. Keam, who was born in Korea, is trying to become the first Asian-American elected to Virginia’s legislature. He raised $123,000 in the first quarter and had more than $100,000 in the bank when April began. In addition, Roy Baldwin, a local attorney, raised $76,500 in the first quarter including a $30,000 personal loan. Attorney John Carroll collected $43,000 in the first quarter. Omeish, a surgeon, collected about $16,000 and loaned his campaign $45,000. A delegate is paid $17,640 per year. The primary is June 9th. Virginia is for Gitmo Lovers

May 1, 2009

We will know more about sex offenders than we will about the Gitmo detainees coming to the US.

In McLean,  where you can’t throw a rock without hitting a spook, one of the Uyghers will be hosted, while other Jihadis will be sprinkled throughout the NoVa area to ensure everyone gets  their mandatory multi-cultural exposure to Islamist aggression.

I am interested to see how their cultural assimilation will go.  How will a group that ripped a TV off the wall because an ad featured a woman with exposed arms (not Michelle Obama)  deal with sun dresses in Old Town,  George Mason University non-MSA co-eds,  and the abundance of female soccer players, northern Virginia swim league, joggers, and outdoor enthusiast…God forbid they were let loose around the beautiful people that comprise  Hill staffers.

What can we surmise will occur?  How about a CAIR/Leftist combo propaganda extravaganza?, so odds are these guys will be kept on a leash, at least long enough for  photo-ops, sob stories, and lawsuits.

I disagree with the puke’s analysis in the video, but it documents the story of these innocent criminals…gag.

Video: Islamic Supremicsts Invade Board Meeting

March 23, 2009

In response to the WaPo article dismissing concerns about the ISA teachings, sums it up best:

For equality and liberty to survive, supremacism of any kind must be consistently challenged without fear.  If this had been a South African-supported school during the apartheid era, with a documented history of textbooks teaching children white supremacism and hatred to other races, I would have the same problem with it.  Or any other institution with a history of supremacist textbooks teaching hate and

This is why it is so important to defend our shared inalienable human rights of equality and liberty, as I am doing at

Would those who claim we don’t have a right to defend equality and liberty call our defense as “hate propaganda” if we were challenging an institution supporting racial supremacists?  Or challenging South African apartheid advocates?  Or challenging the history of racial supremacism in America?

Hometown Jihad Documentary DC Release

February 12, 2009

Our review is forthcoming, but Jeffrey Imm does a great job.  He was there last night, below is his article.

Bottom line, it is a documentary whose jaw dropping power compels action.  It provides facts, not feelings.  These are our weapons, consider yourself armed, now act-buy a copy, support their legislation, stay informed, inform a friend, and stay active, we will soon be issuing a coordinated call to action on the soft Jihad against GMU (see here and here).  You are isolated but not alone, now get out there and fight.

Washington DC: 150 Attend Anti-Jihad Event

by Jeffrey Imm
Anti-Jihad League of America

February 12, 2009

On Wednesday night, February 11, over 150 Washington DC area residents attended the premiere screening of the film “Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around U.S.” at a Washington DC theater.  The film screening was sponsored by the Christian Action Network that co-produced the film along with PRB films, directed by Christian Action Network president Martin Mawyer.  The film documents the activities of the Jamaat ul-Fuqra organization and its front organization “Muslims of America,” led by Pakistani Islamic cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, and their 35 camps around the United States.    The documentary references a 2006 Regional Organized Crime Information Center report that states that  Ali Gilani is “known as an international terrorist” and that Jamaat ul-Fuqra has “more than 3,000 members spread across the United States, all in support of one goal: the purification of Islam through violence.”

The film shows segments from an internal terrorist training video by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, entitled “Soldiers of Allah.”  As the Christian Action Network documentary explains, the “Soldiers of Allah” “Islamic military warfare” training video “teaches American students how to operate AK-47 rifles, rocket launchers, and machine guns; how to kidnap Americans and then kill them; how to conduct sabotage and subversive operations; and how to use mortars and explosives.”   As shown in the documentary, Ali Gilani tells his members “We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America.”

The Christian Action Network documentary then proceeds to document the terrorist and criminal activities of individuals associated with Ali Gilani’s Jamaat ul-Fuqra organization, linked to 10 assassinations and 17 firebombings.   The documentary states that Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was on his way to a meeting with Ali Gilani in Pakistan, when he was abducted and killed.  The film also describes the involvement of Jamaat ul-Fuqra members in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The documentary makers investigate Ali Gilani’s “Muslims of America” camps at locations around the United States, soliciting feedback from members on Ali Gilani’s “Soldiers of Allah” video, which many refuse to acknowledge, some accept as necessary, and others respond to with threats and violence to the Christian Action Network documentary makers.  The film includes interviews with state and local law enforcement struggling to prosecute Jamaat ul-Fuqra individuals and their frustration with a lack of federal law enforcement support, as well as local individuals concerned for their safety living near one of Ali Gilani’s “Muslims of America” camps.

After the film, Christian Action Network’s Martin Mawyer,  Christian Action Network’s Jason Campbell, and the Higgins Counter-Terrorism Research Center’s Dr. Peter Leitner had a question and answer session with the audience.  Mr. Mawyer explained how the :Homegrown Jihad” film had taken three years to produce, and told the audience that the Christian Action Network’s next objective was to develop a similar documentary about the growth of Sharia law in Europe.  Mr. Mawyer also pointed out how his organization provided this documentary to the FBI and to Congressional representatives.  The audience gave special applause for Jason Campbell’s fearlessness in approaching hostile members of the “Muslims of America” camps in the documentary.  Dr. Leitner addressed counterterrorism and law-enforcement questions posed by the audience.

The Washington DC audience was invited to attend the premiere screening by the Christian Action Network through emails, promotion of the event by anti-jihad web sites and organizations, and local radio promotion by Washington DC area’s WAVA-FM radio host Don Kroah.  Local activist groups also promoted the anti-jihad event, with attendance by DC area activist leaders Catherine Martin (ACT!For America — Northern Virginia & DC Metro Chapter), John Cosgrove (United American Committee, Virginia Chapter), and Jeffrey Imm (Anti-Jihad League of America), among others.  A number in the audience expressed interest in further follow-on activities to bring the war of ideas to the America public.

George Mason Embraces Soft Jihad

February 12, 2009

There are some troubling concerns I have about GMU’s recent acceptance of a $1.5 million grant for the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).   In a nutshell, IIIT is a Muslim Brotherhood front group with connections to several charities closed for funding terrorism.   Both Congressman Jim Moran and Temple University either returned or refused money from IIIT…for good reason.

The IIIT’s troubles are outlined here:

The above link outlines the case against IIIT and provides a copy of evidence used during a Federal trial.  On page 15 of 32 of the government evidence in the successful conviction of members of the Holy Land Foundation, the  International Institute of Islamic Thought is listed as a group used in the “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within (page 21 of 32)”.

Jamal Barzinji of IIIT, and cited in GMU press releases, provided office space for and shared the same address (555 Grove St, Herndon) as the following organizations closed for terrorism financing in Operation Greenquest in 2002:  International Islamic Relief Organization and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY).

I will be updating this post with a copy of a US Court decision (Boim v. Holy Land Foundation) agreeing that soft jihad is the other side of hard jihad, but both same sides of the same coin.

Coordinated action with ACT and others is forthcoming, will update at least each Friday, but send us an email if you’re interested in more frequent information.

Why Does the Islamic Saudi Academy Matter?

October 2, 2008
Found here and here.

Behind the Veil at the Islamic Saudi Academy

by Jerry Gordon and Isabelle Cruz (Aug. 2008)

Last month we chronicled in a New English Review article the nearly 25 year saga of citizen opposition to the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA), a Royal Saudi Embassy sponsored private school with two campuses located in Fairfax County, Virginia. The ISA is one of 20 such Saudi funded schools around the world with ties to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Education that espouses the strict Islamic doctrine of Wahhabism.

When the US Commission on International Religious Freedom released a report on its review of 17 textbooks used in the Islamic Studies program at the embattled ISA on June 11th, a fuse was lit that resulted in a protest outside the main Alexandria, Virginia Campus on June 17th.  The group of 15 protesters who rallied outside the ISA had signs that said:

Honk to Stop Islamic Terrorism;

This Saudi school is Anti-Semitic and Anti-Christian.

Andrea Lafferty, executive director of Traditional Values Coalition organized the ISA protest with participation by the United American Committee, Virginia Chapter, the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy (CSP).

Lafferty commented:

They’re free to come here and worship, but they are not free to come here and teach hate.

Christine Brim of the CSP said:

They don’t have a First Amendment right in this country to incite violence against other groups.

Rahima Abdullah, the ISA education director replied to these allegations:

That’s absolutely not true. What we teach here is love and tolerance.
We have new books now and the ones the commission is talking about have been out of use for some time, and were misinterpreted, then.

A spokesman for ISA, a U.S. history teacher, David Kovalick, was shown this excerpt from an ISA textbook:

The Jews conspired against Islam and its people. A sly, wicked person who sinfully and deceitfully professed Islam infiltrated (the Muslims).

Kovalick’s response was:

Well, that is very anti-Semitic and uh, wow, no, but those don’t exist in our books.

An Al Jazeera report on the protest at the ISA noted this comment from Abd Al-Rahman Al-Ghufayli, principal of the Boys’ School: “We have nothing to hide. That’s why we invited them there and tried to discuss things with them, but I’m sad to say, they did not accept our invitation. This suggests that the commission has a certain agenda, which it is trying to implement.”

Then there were these additional observations from an Al Jazeera interview with ISA administrators and faculty inside the School during the June 17th protest:

Reporter: “The local authority of Fairfax County, where the academy is located, has challenged the threats of closure. It determined that the allegations are invalid, and it approved the religious curricula after examining them. The non-Muslim teachers also expressed disgust and frustration at the allegations.”

Kate Schneider, English teacher: “The thing that frustrates me so much about these accusations is that first, they are not true, and second, it is so completely opposite from the truth. This school teaches faith and the same basic values we want all our children to have.”

Another non-Muslim faculty member was quoted in a Washington Post report parroting the same line:

School administrators said teachers were told to keep any inflammatory material out of the classroom. “I taught for 15 years,” said Dana Nicholas, assistant principal of the girls’ school. “I would not have stayed if I thought that my students that were coming into my classroom and dealing with me every day, as a Christian, as a woman, if they were being taught this kind of thing in the Islamic class.”

However, the realities about what prevails inside the ISA are 180 degrees away from these faculty comments quoted  in Al Jazeera, the Washington Times and the Washington Post.

Following the June 17th protests, we were contacted by former ISA faculty members  who consented to present views on the atmosphere that pervades the Saudi Embassy sponsored school in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The comments by these confidential sources reveal a pervasive attitude towards non-Muslims that reflects Saudi autocracy and Wahhabi xenophobic doctrine.

According to the source, approximately 20 % of the ISA students were children from the Saudi and other Muslim diplomatic legations in Washington, DC.  The school was very much under the control of the Saudis and had Arab Muslim long term faculty who had been there since the school’s founding in the mid-1980s. At the beginning of the school year, all of the teachers were informed that the ISA was an arm of the Saudi government.

The sources indicated that the majority of students were American Muslim children. The instructors were concerned male students would travel to the Middle East after graduation, ‘go over the edge’ and become Jihadists, just like 1999 ISA valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, now in prison for thirty years for the attempted assassination of President Bush.

The administrators were ‘extremely arrogant’ and practiced the religiously sanctioned tradition of lying to non-Muslims (taqiyya) and enjoyed pulling the wool over the eyes of the infidels. An atmosphere of deception was at the heart of everything that they did. There was an attitude among administrators of “Don’t tell the Americans” regarding Wahhabi Jihadi doctrine. Whenever Saudi representatives came to the ISA, they would have nothing to do with the non-Muslim faculty. Non-Muslim faculty were allowed to attend general faculty meetings, but when there was something that the Muslim faculty did not want them to hear, the Muslim instructors would disappear and non-Muslim instructors would hear rumors of meetings. If the non-Muslim faculty asked about those meetings, the Muslim leadership at the school would tell them that it was going to be in Arabic anyway so they need not attend.  There was an atmosphere of exclusion and oppression.

Classroom maps of the Middle East did not depict Israel on them.

There was an incident involving a Christian woman instructor.  Her daughter had attended ISA. The daughter would come home in tears because she had been taught to hate Jews and that Christians were awful.   The daughter had missed several days of school because she didn’t want to hear the hateful scorn. The girl became the object of a scurrilous campaign by Muslim girls in her class who spread rumors that her Christian mother had an illicit affair and was pregnant. When the girl’s mother heard of this, she approached the head of faculty and requested a denial of the allegations and an apology; none were given.  The woman taught at ISA for a brief period and when the school year ended, resigned. According to the sources, to add insult to injury, the same Dana Nicholas who said she couldn’t have taught at the school if students “were being taught this kind of thing in the Islamic class,” knew directly about the persecution of the Christian woman instructor and also helped to white wash the incident.

The sources noted that the turnover for non-Muslim teachers was huge, while some non-Muslim teachers wanted to leave but stayed because they needed the job. Not only American non-Muslims but other people who were considered lower in status by the Saudi administrators, including Pakistanis, Kurds and even Shia Muslims, suffered at the school. The sources described how the students “got away with murder.” An interesting side note is that many Muslim students from the Middle East came to the school for one or two semesters and in the English as a Second Language (ESL) classes received credits for English so that they could go on to an American university, whether they could speak English or not. All the students passed, no matter what their proficiency level. Students could not be failed or reprimanded. There is evidence that students’ grades were changed to allow them to pass and even the students told the teachers they couldn’t do anything about it.

Another telling incident involved a non-Muslim teacher who taught second and third grade students and apparently was liked by them.  One day, after the children had returned from their Muslim Studies class, when the instructor walked into the classroom, the students were talking about how they hated Christians and that they were going to kill them. The teacher overheard this and said, “I’m a Christian”.  The students said that they wouldn’t kill the instructor, but would kill all the rest of Christians. This should come as no surprise since the head of the Muslim Religion Department is himself a Wahhabist. The teacher who heard the students say these things resigned his position and left the school.

One last point to ponder, the sources said that it doesn’t matter if the textbooks are changed because the instructors teaching the Wahhabi doctrine know it by heart and teach it year after year. Even if the textbooks were to finally have the hateful Wahhabist and Islamic supremacy language removed, it would do nothing to change those teachers who have been filling young Muslim heads with this hate-filled xenophobic doctrine. While Rahima Abdullah may assure us that the books are new and were misinterpreted originally, our sources have experienced the Saudi agenda of teaching anything but “love and tolerance.”

It is the atmosphere of exclusion and hate directed at non-Muslim ISA faculty that raises serious questions about the tolerant, non-discriminatory representations by faculty and the School’s administrators.  The ISA is an arm of the Saudi government Ministry of Education. Given the recent revelations of the second Saudi text book study, “Update: Saudi Arabia’s Curriculum of Intolerance,” released by the Hudson Institute Center for Religious Freedom on July 17th, perhaps  it is time for Congressman Frank Wolf and others on the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee to demand that the ISA be shut down. Certainly, the ISA accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is seriously in question, and if xenophobic hate is taught there, should be withdrawn.

As attested by the comments of these knowledgeable sources, things are not quite what the Saudis allege behind the veil of taqiyya at the ISA.

Connolly Provides Insults not Answers to ISA Questions

Connolly Provides Insults not Answers to ISA Questions

October 1, 2008

Springfield, Virginia

11th Congressional Candidate Gerry Connolly spoke to the West Springfield Civic Association in the community room of the West Springfield Government Center in a Meet the Candidate forum. Civic Association members got to meet both Connolly’s, beauty and the beast. His answers to a majority of questions represented beauty in the abstract sense that one can appreciate the hollowness of a honed politician shucking and jiving around accountability for $430 million worth of public debt and a political party ducking their responsibility for Freddie and Fannie. However, when challenged on the Islamic Saudi Academy, Boss Connolly the Beast showed his true colors by insulting and bullying the inquiring civic association member. Afterwards, association members politely characterized his behavior as condescending and full of contempt.

At the outset of the meeting, Connolly lauded his 25 years of foreign policy experience, and commitment to assessable and accountable government. When questioned on accountability of the Islamic Saudi Academy, Connolly inspected his finger nails, and then perturbed, interrupted the question. Undeterred, the question of how he would hold the ISA accountable as a Congressman, was asked. Connolly responded not by answering, but instead by threatening “Are you a member of this civic association?” In the hour plus discussion, Connolly asked this for this verification from no one else.

Unable to escape on technicality or suppress the question, Connolly proceeded with insult and slander accusing the asker of “not doing their homework.” Connolly’s character assassination was rebuffed with citations of government reports, so he moved on to denying the issue by claiming it was a land use issue that the US State Department had to decide for local government. This answer stood in stark contrast to the terms of the Fairfax County’s lease with the ISA and Connolly’s own introductory comments lamenting Federal interference in local government.

Connolly’s next reaction was to levy another sneer of “why don’t you run for Congress.” The civic association member chided Connolly for his attempts to bully the question away, citing Connolly’s similar behavior during the ISA hearing on May 19, 2008. When questioned about the transparency of the County investigation of the issue, Connolly stated that he “did not support” Supervisor Hyland’s admittedly opaque investigation of the ISA. This is contradictory to Connolly’s testimony on May 19, 2008. Connolly concluded his answer before the association by citing that he wrote a letter to US Secretary of State Rice before Congressman Wolf did and that nothing more could be done.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, Connolly fresh from throwing his weight around, was challenged on his behavior.
